…And the challenges continue.
All this technological business not being my strong hold, I encountered a number of challenges along the way. I do have to say that now that I have engaged with technology more than I ever had before taking this class, I am a lot more calm and resourceful in my quest of answers to questions that come up. I use both google and youTube quite effectively.
Because this was the biggest of all the projects (at least it felt that way for me), I anticipated having more technological challenges, and I did, particularly with trying to figure out how to make sure that the websites in the links section actually opened when clicked. But what challenged me the most was writing my artist statement. I worked on many drafts of it, wanting to ensure I conveyed a true and honest representation of myself and the work I do. I was conscious of not making it too long or too wordy, yet also wanted to ensure its authenticity. In the end I am quite pleased with it, and thank you for the guidelines you included, that really helped.
I also felt challenged, or perhaps not as much challenged as where I spent a lot of time; that is, trying to figure out the “look” of the website. I played around with a few options but ultimately decided on something quite plain so that I could include some images of my own work and have it be more personal, yet also clean and easy to navigate.
Overall, I am quite content with the website and look forward to updating and having a place in which to share my work with other artists and friends. I am most happy to have created it myself because it is something I have wanted to learn for a long time and an extremely valuable tool and skill to have.
